October 4 National Vigil for Aboriginal Women – for Sisters in Spirit Vigil

Dear friends,

I am sorry I cannot be at the vigil today, but I am there from my heart, and stand in support and solidarity for all our sisters who are missing.

I want to let you know I will not let up, in continuing to demand support, resources, and acknowledgment about what has taken place in our community and many other communities too, as women face poverty, violence, and loss of their rights and dignity.

For all the women who have gone missing, and their families and the community that grieve this loss, we will must all work together to insist that justice be carried out and that there be healing and dignity and hope for the future. For our Aboriginal sisters, in particular, we stand with you on this day, and in the future, for justice and human rights.

Yours in Sisterhood,
